Kevin Sedgwick M.Ost
Co-Founder, Director and Registered Osteopath
GOsC Registration No. 12228
Kevin is a qualified osteopath who graduated with distinction from Health Sciences University, formerly the University College of Osteopathy. During his training, he gained extensive supervised clinical experience, assessing and managing a broad range of musculoskeletal presentations while developing a strong foundation in clinical reasoning, communication, hands on care and rehabilitation.
Kevin’s decision to become an osteopath was shaped by personal experience. He has lived with significant and recurring lower back problems from a young age, including periods of rehabilitation and several medical procedures. He understands how persistent pain can affect sleep, confidence, physical activity, work and family life, as well as how frustrating it can be when explanations or treatment plans are unclear.
Alongside osteopathy, Kevin has completed more than 21 years of service in the British Army and Household Cavalry. His military career has involved leadership, high levels of responsibility and physical training, giving him a clear understanding of the demands placed on people who need to remain capable under pressure. This experience informs his calm, organised and practical approach to patient care.
Kevin also brings five years of experience in sports massage therapy, together with additional qualifications in clinical sports therapy and soft tissue therapy. These are not offered as separate services, but complement his osteopathic approach by supporting his understanding of movement, muscular loading, training related problems and rehabilitation.
His approach begins with listening carefully to each patient’s history, concerns and goals. He then carries out an appropriate assessment, explains his findings clearly and discusses the available options. Where osteopathic care is suitable, treatment is tailored to the individual and may be supported by movement advice or rehabilitation exercises.
Kevin does not believe in promising instant fixes or recommending unnecessary long term care. His aim is to provide a high standard of professional treatment, honest guidance and a clear plan that helps patients understand their problem and move forward with greater confidence.
